Welcome to the village of South Barrington!
South Barrington offers the enjoyment of both country charm and big city amenities. Situated near I-90 and two train systems, we enjoy easy access to O’Hare International Airport as well as the City of Chicago.
We take pride in our community which is characterized by many options for dining, shopping and entertainment as well as beautiful homes. The development of The Arboretum of South Barrington life style shopping center as well as AMC South Barrington 24, Gino’s East, Goebbert’s, and mega church, Willow Creek, provide countless options for residents and visitors. Our local business office centers include medical, dental and financial services.
Within our village, our green environment includes 40 lakes and ponds surrounding our homes which are both on large and smaller lots. As a member of the Greenest Region Corps, and recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy with the SolSmart Gold designation, we have worked to become one of the top Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) municipalities in the United States on green energy with our Electric Aggregation Program. We continually collaborate to incorporate green technologies within our community.
South Barrington’s school system is excellent. Our community is in one of the state’s top school systems, award winning Barrington School District 220 for K-12. We are also able to enjoy the advantages of our close proximity to the highly ranked Harper College.
